Peter Richardson

Current Position

Peter is currently a Battery Scientist at Apple. He has also served as a Senior Research Scientist for battery materials development at CPI (UK).

Background

Peter is from Stockton-On-Tees, a small town near Durham in the North East of England in the United Kingdom. He carried out his undergraduate program in physics at the University of Leeds, obtaining a Bachelor of Science and a Master's in Physics, where his project was the electrochemical study of liquid and polymer gel electrolytes for battery applications. In 2009, he continued this work into the dynamics of polymer gel electrolytes using NMR in his Ph.D. under the supervision of the late Emeritus Prof. Ian Ward and Dr. Alison Voice. In his spare time, Peter enjoys writing and performing music on an array of different instruments including guitar, bass, and drums. He also enjoys hiking and traveling to different countries around the world.
