Background

I grew up in Carrboro, North Carolina and studied at North Carolina State University, earning my BS in Materials Science and Engineering. I am excited to be getting back to my California roots while studying at UCSB. In my free time, I love to hike, work on learning a new language, or play beach volleyball.

Current Research

My current project (co-advised by Dr. Yangying Zhu) involves the operando analysis of lithium growth in batteries with heterogeneous heating profiles. Smooth plating and dendritic/mossy lithium growth are compared using a range of techniques, including NMR and EPR.
