Julia Ong

Background

I am a chemistry major in the College of Creative Studies, and I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area. I chose to study chemistry because of its wide variety of applications from cooking to clean energy. In my free time, I enjoy tap dancing, reading, and playing board games with my family.

Current Research

I am working with Vincent Wu on his project to synthesize battery cathode materials with a disordered rocksalt (DRX) structure. I am also involved in the entire process of making and cycling batteries to test the capacity of cells made with DRX cathodes.
