Howie Nguyen

Current Position

Howie is now working at Solid Energies Inc.

Background

I am originally from Orange County and did my undergrad in DC, where I studied electroluminescent materials. The east coast weather spooked me back home to Southern California for my graduate career. During my free time, I play volleyball, workout, or watch TV.

Current Research

Development of an operando electrochemical/EPR probe for the investigation of energy storage materials. One specific goal is to identify charge compensation mechanisms in Li-excess cathode materials.

• 2018-Present – Ph.D. in Materials, UC Santa Barbara.
• 2013-2017 – B.S. in Chemistry, Georgetown University.
