Franklin Zhou

Background

I grew up in Suzhou, China, and developed a passion for chemistry when I was in high school. I was introduced to research through organic synthesis work (although my interest has shifted a lot since that). Attracted by the weather and natural scenes, I headed to Santa Barbara for college and fell in love with the life here. In my free time, I enjoy visiting places that not so many people have traveled to and discovering new food in town. I am also a great fan of Postcrossing, exchanging postcards with random people in the world.

Research

Franklin's research focused on the development of rechargeable batteries with NASICON as the cathode material and particularly on refining the synthesis process of NASICON.
