Background

I grew up in Park City, Utah, so I love spending time outdoors. I attended undergrad at The University of Chicago where I conducted research in atomic, optical, and molecular physics. After deciding cold, windy winters were not for me, I spent a year working in the Bay Area at AOSense, Inc. I am excited to return to my roots and dive into sustainability-focused research topics at UC Santa Barbara. Outside of the lab, I can be found skiing, backpacking, and surfing with friends.

Current Research

My research (co-advised by Professor Yangying Zhu) focuses on understanding thermal conductivity and its impact on ion transport and degradation in solid-state batteries. By combining magnetic resonance spectroscopy with transient grating spectroscopy, we hope to gain deeper insight into the fundamental processes governing battery performance.
