Allyson Ee

Current position

Allyson is now working at QuantumScape.

Background

Although Allyson lived in Santa Barbara for four years as an undergraduate in Chemical Engineering here at UCSB, she considers the Philippines her home. She spent the first 16 years of her life there, where she discovered her love for science and ultimate frisbee! During her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, climbing, playing ultimate, and watching her favorite movies like Mean Girls. Though she is very nice, on Wednesdays, she wears pink.

Research

While in the Clément group, Allyson investigated microwave (MW) synthesis as a sustainable alternative to the conventional solid-state synthesis of many Li-ion battery cathodes. She focussed on the characterization of the materials she made to determine underlying structural features that affect their electrochemical performance and to better understand the mechanisms behind MW synthesis.
